Here is a pic of the garden that me and Jess built. We used a horse trough I found at my moms house and filled it with a mixture of cheap dirt from dollar store, river sand I took from a pile in the street and pricey garden soil from Harold’s. It has totally taken off from the beginning, it gets full sun for about 4 hours a day and gets watered everyday unless it rains.

Friday night Jess and I went fishing at the point to try and catch fish before the spillway destroys the fishing. We met up with dirty talking Bruno and Joyce. It started slow but we were having fun and then I hooked into a 15 lb Black Drum, I fought it for about 20 minutes and landed it. I am now in Bruno’s West End Point Exceptional Fish Photo Album. Saturday I went for a 25 mile ride with Jonah. We went to Levee and about 5 miles into we were joined by what Jonah called “the Obi-Wan Kenobi” of cycling. His name is Bob, 72 years old and probably one of coolest cyclist I have ever met. It was a really good ride and I must give Jonah some props for going into CC’s sporting his Lycra to get us some ice coffee.
Sunday Tom Boonon won the Paris Roubaix. Big George had another bike mishap but still finished 9th overall.

Paris Roubaix is Sunday and I am very excited. All of the doping crap and fair weather people that are out of my life has made my cycling posse smaller but I dont care because I love it. Big George this is your year is what I have to say. I can say Fuck Le Tour (your scared of Johan Bruyneel), real cycling fans know it doesnt count this year anyway since the best cyclist are not riding because the French are pussies. You still have me on the Roubaix.
Ok, so we need to open the spillway and that makes me a little pissed for selfish reasons. FISHING.

It is an oh so sweet pad next door to a good friend. I have lived in the ghetto for too long and I realize that now because I am now the ghetto in the new hood. People talk to me without asking for money (weird feeling). We planted a new garden yesterday using a horse trough as a planter and got our plants from Harold,s (thought of Chris B) in the bywater.
I have new sleep habits due to:
  • Not Drinking
  • New office space
  • New House
  • New Hood

It is amazing, I wake up at 7 am every morning and I have been crashing out before Midnight. I was sitting on the stoop with Jess yesterday at around 9:30 pm and I told her I was getting tired. I think proceeded to ask if I were getting old or something. I guess that is what happens when you actually get on a schedule.

I am really trying to make my job Mon - Fri and 50 hours per week. So far it is going really good since I am in a nerd office space with other nerds I am noticing a higher level of productivity. That is a good thing since I am trying to recover my finances from my 2 week hiatus and I am also trying to move into a new home. I am commuting from the NS every morning at 6 am and leaving around 6 pm so you can imagine how urgent it is to move back to nola asap.

The trip to the Arizona hot Springs was epic, if you have never been, you should check it out. It is 5 miles south of the Hoover Dam and about 20 miles south of Vegas. It is beautiful and clean and the hike is difficult but not a killer. One suggestion, BRING WATER.
