Spillway, animation and Mardi Gras Thursday, Feb 16 2006

This is the first thing we saw on the spillway trail less than 1/4 mile into it. I slammed on the brakes and motioned for everyone behind me to stop. It was under 40 degrees, so the snake must have washed up from the night before. He was so sluggish that I dont hink he could have struck. It must suck to be cold blooded. I have not seen a cotton-mouth that big since I was a kid. I am just glad it wasnt summer.

Dave and Chris were with me so I didnt mind trying a few of the obstacles. I went over my handle bar about 5 times before making the root climb. It is good to fall on a mountain bike. It makes you more confident in landing stuff.

Dave ate the dirt good a few times. But the best one was caught on camera. Hahahahaha. He is scuh a good rider I like to see him fall a few times to know that he does.

But of course he always ends up landing it.

I know it is bad to spread the puddin at any trail but this is a permanent trench so I took advantage of the rain. I love riding in mud. This was the first weekend I started to feel my fitness excel. It makes me want to ride more.
We are passed the halfway mark with the animation. I want it finished before Mardi Gras weekend. Wait, that 10 days away. No matter I will do it. It is coming out way better than I expected. It is almost as if our hands are guided.
I am ready for Mardi Gras. I need it, my soul needs it, my city needs it and Mardi Gras needs it.
