I drove out to Mississippi to ride De Soto. I assumed the trail would be open since the web site indicated it was. Well I was wrong. Katrina had her way with De Soto. Trees were down everywhere. Logging trucks had made rodes through forest to collect the fallen trees. The devastation the forest is really large scale.

The trail could not be riddin because they were covered in trees and debris. I could however ride the muddy trails made by the logging trucks. It is not what I went for but I was not driving for 2 hours to turn around a go back. So I decided to spread the puddin’ (ride in really muddy conditions) for about an hour and a half then went back to the Trail Head.

When I rode up to the Trail Head I saw some other riders, who looked like they were doing was I was doing, said the were just fussed at by a Ranger. They told me he made the sound out the words “This area closed to public use” while he was pointing at the sign. Before they could finish telling me he turned around and came back to fuss at me a little. He didnt get out of truck for me, he just told methat if he catches any of there it would be $150 fine.
