Jonah, a roadie. Friday, Jul 29 2005

Spasticrobot has got himself a sweet road bike. Next thing you know the leg hair is coming off, but if he wants to do it like a real man, he should burn it off. Proudly sporting Lycra shorts riding down lakeshore drive, it is the life of a roadie.

Where the hell has CHOMPS been Thursday, Jul 28 2005

Well well well, I have been a busy fella. I am preparing for Siggraph and that includes learning new software, authoring DVDs (re-learning Java Script for Director MX), building demos and just getting ready to be in pure geek mode for a week.
I have also been working on myself in several different aspects. One thing that I have done is broke down and went to the dentist. I have been neglecting my teeth because of the humiliation I knew was coming from talking about the condition and cure for my dental problems. The dentist visit went way better than I thought it would. I was so nervous I thought I was going to vomit (having a sensitive gag reflex doesnt help). I went in with Lara and having her there helped alot. My teeth were in better shape than I thought. Now it is still going to cost me $2900 for everything I need but I thought I was going to need dentures. They explaned what I was doing wrong and how to now only stop the damage but also how to fix some of the damage. I feel relieved that I went.
I also went through my student loans and got those all in order. I am planning a budget to prepare for buying a house in the next couple of years.
And then there was the TDF and that took alot of my time up. I was very pleased with the results and the amount of attacks that took place. It was a good tour all in all.
I am going to get back to the blogging world soon but right now it will be spotty until I get everything I need to do in line.

Well deserved win for Mr. Hincapie. He has worked for Lance for the last 6 tours selflessly and he deserves the win more than anyone. I cant wait to see who is going to lead Disco next year, maybe George?! It may be his time.

Being a Cycling fan is tough Thursday, Jul 14 2005

Damn the Tour de France is starting to take its toll on my work life. I read a live stream in the morning and then talk on AIM with Will and Spasticrobot for a while and then I go to the R bar and watch it on OLN. I love the race but my work will love when it is over. I am very thankful that Lala is as big of a fan as I am or that might be in trouble.

Rest In Peace Uncle Harry Monday, Jul 11 2005

                      uncle Harry

Your impact on my life is invaluable. You cared for me when my Dad was burned and had to spend 6 months in the hospital. I thought you were the coolest guy around. I even tried to mimic your walk (not knowing that is was caused by Muscular Dystrophy) because I thought it was cool. You brought me fishing and fooled me into thinking I was catching the fish. I am going to miss you but I am also relieved that you no longer have to suffer. Rest In Peace Uncle Harry.

I was reading Compter Graphics World and I noticed a very familier image by and old drawing teacher of mine from UNO, Jeff Prentice. It is an older image but I am glad he got some recognition for it from ACM.

DISCO-TRAIN Wednesday, Jul 6 2005

           Disco

Can anyone stop the Disco-Train? So far it does not seem so, I mean there is mad talent riding this year, I think more than ever. But nobody seems like they want to step up to the plate. Jan is looking like he wants to give up and the race hasn’t even really started. Vino is losing time every day and the only non-American that looks like they want to play is Basso, and we all love Basso.
The Americans that are in contention for the GC are up in the top 30. Bobby Julich is in 4th place Floyd Landis in 20th and Levi in 30th. All of them are within that crucial 3 minute mark. This is going to be a wild race. Putting the TTT so close to the start really breaks up the field that and ITT on the first day that was 9k long. We will know who is who on stage 10
