little pieces of magic Tuesday, Jun 28 2005

I notice this one kid that tap dances on Bourbon every night I am delivering. He is about 10 but he is the size of a 7 year old. He tap dances with his friend who is about 14. Sunday night they were doing there thing and a professional tap dancer, who is a little intoxicated, walks up to them and starts showing his moves. They go back and forth for about 5 minutes as a huge crowd forms around them. Then the smaller kid starts to try and mimic everything the professional is doing and I must say that he was doing a good job of it. They kept trying to out-do each other, while the crowd got bigger and bigger.
I kick down a buck or so to them pretty ofton but there is never more than about 20 bucks in the tip container well after that 15 minute fiasco there must have been over $300 in there and they were so happy. They tried to give some to the pro but he would not even think about taking it.

BATMAN Thursday, Jun 23 2005

Holy good movie, Batman. Damn I was so impressed with the plot and acting. I was more impressed with the CG that was used and the particle work. Take notice, when you see the movie, of the bats and all of the fragmenting glass and buildings. It is dark, violent and twisted.

Fishin, ridin and a date Tuesday, Jun 21 2005

           boats
I have been really busy so I have not had time to keep up with the blog. I am going to start posting as often as possible and get back on track. This blog is a year old now and I need to keep it up.
We chartered a boat last Tuesday and went out in the Gulf. The fishin was not great but I got to see some beautiful boats and seascape. Lara caught the biggest fish weighing in at a rounf 35 pounds. I caught shark and a bunch of snappers that were not big enough to keep. We had a great time hangin out with friends and being on the water all day. When we got back to the dock I was taught how to fillet a fish that size. I already want to go again.
I raced this weekend and had a rough time of it. I think I over trained. I had mechanical issues throughout the weekend. I was really happy to be racing again even if I did not do well. I bought a new USCF lic and I am going to join NOBC.
Tonight I have a date with the lovely Lala. We are going to Lolas and going to see Batman Begins.

rain rain go away Wednesday, Jun 8 2005

I want to ride. I love a summer rain but this is getting ridiculous. It appears to have let up for now but I am sure once me and Lala are on the road it will start again.

Work, work, work and ride. Tuesday, Jun 7 2005

I am working like a dog these days. I have my real job (40+ hours) and my cyclone job (20 hours) plus my penance (8 hours). That is a grand total of 68 hours a week. Soon the penance will be over and I am cutting back on my cyclone to probably 10 hours. But that will not be till August.
I am riding pretty often and I am trying to get on a schedule so that I build the most performance efficiently. This weekend I rode more than 30 miles each day and we did rode it pretty fast. I already have a pretty good base I just need to work on speed and speed endurance. I plan on doing the Tour de Louisiana in a couple of weeks. I am in no condition but I am going to go out there to give it hell. I have become a much more aggresive rider since I have been delivering in the French Quarter. I have also gained some power from riding the pig everywhere.
