Lance is going for it. Wednesday, Feb 16 2005

756910241tWell I guess he has to at least try for it. It would make him more of a bad ass if he went for the giro/classics old school style. I did read that Discovery was looking to win a tour without Lance. This may be the hand-off and training run for Yaroslav Popovych. Lance may have a chance because of the strength and maturity of the team.

all I can say is “hot hot hot” Tuesday, Feb 15 2005

Flowers_1Fresh flowers, classic soul ballads, dinner at Bank Cafe, Jazz Vipers at Spotted Cat and a slow walk home made for some magic on Valentines Day. The best part of it is that we dont even try, it just happens. We can just roll with the night, dance in the street and have a great time together.

Sweetheart Monday, Feb 14 2005

TripA little over a year ago I went and saw the Triplets of Belleville with Lara. It was raining and we had to stand close to fit under the umbrella. That was the start of the night and it ended with a kiss. I knew that night that we were going to be together. It was one of those feelings that you just trust no matter what and that is what we did. So here we are a little over a year later and we have been through some rough spots and never did I think that I wanted anything else but to be with her.

basshoss Monday, Feb 14 2005

It was a strange strange weekend littered with laughs and cries. At the time of absolute darkness I found the basshoss. Fried fish, tallboys and good friends is the cure for just about anything. I did come to the realization that I have lots of folks who will do anything for me. That is a good feeling.

Mardi Gras Wednesday, Feb 9 2005

Me_and_lala_3

This was the best Mardi Gras ever. I was able to share the experience with Lara since she did not have to work. We had a great time and spent it with the wonderful people of NOLA. The St. Anthony Ramblers turned heads and created smiles. This was the most people we have ever had marching with us. On our stroll back to Kays I got ahead of the parade and turned around, the parade was this amazing entity that brought everyone together. I looked at spasticrobot holding the banner and looked like the proudest person around and he had every right to be.
Now I am going to get some ashes and start my lent with a non meat meal.

The St. Anthony Ramblers Friday, Feb 4 2005

Planning the weekend with The St. Anthony Ramblers in mind. I cant burn all my fuel before Mardi Gras. So I will be on the low setting of carnival. I still need to make costumes (Lundi and Mardi).
I read this great article about St. Anne today. Parades of the French Quarter are the best. Every parade displays it own flavor. Which band is part of the parade? Who are the Krewe’s members?  What is the parades ritual? These all collectively make the Parade.

Throwin down with Muses Thursday, Feb 3 2005

Dsc02504Throwin down without a second of hesitation. Spasticrobot and crew met up with me and Lara for a stroll down to Canal street. The bands were awesome and so were the throws. We had so much fun I cant express it in words. Mardi Gras is here and if it keeps going on the same path we are in for a special Fat Tuesday. I am trying to figure out what to give up for lent. I quit smoking already and I just took a 6 week break from drinking. I dont know, maybe I will give up eating meat. Hmmmm.

Flickr, Muses and the baby. Wednesday, Feb 2 2005

If you have not seen flickr you need to check it out. I am stil working my way through all the bells andKing_cake_baby whistles. I have a few pics up and I was able to make a post on typepad from there. It is the all-in-one of B/Floggin.
Tonight I am going to Muses and I am excited. It is really on the best parades of the season. I hope there is not a reapeat of last year though.
I thought I was going to make it through the season without getting the baby but I was wrong. Not only did I get the baby but I bit right into it, kind of funny since today makes 9 months with typepad. Went and bought the king cake from Randazzo’s and not a creme filled either. Some things I like traditional.

Rain rain go away come back after Mardi Gras Day Tuesday, Feb 1 2005

I woke up this morning (I was woken up this morning) and realized that it had not stopped raining. I got up, did my morning duties and was moping towards the door because I knew I was going to get wet on my bike ride. My attitude changed when I got to the front room and realized that Lara rode her bike to school this morning. I felt like a big wimp my little 1.73 mile ride to work is not nearly as bad as Lara’s 5 mile ride down Elysian Fields.
Is it going to rain on Mardi Gras? Is it going to be cold? I need to know these things because it will determine what costume I am going to wear. Lara does not have to work so she is going to be able to parade with the Krewe this year.
