Update from the weekend. Monday, Feb 28 2005

FishsteakI went fishing again this Saturday and I almost feel guilty for catching so many fish. But they have all been eatin and I know I am not over fishin the hole. Fresh fish is a nice thing to have, especially during lent. We are going to skip the same fishin hole this week and try the Lake. I think we are getting spoiled.
There is this beautiful bitch
I cant quit thinking about. She has the prettiest eyes. I could not stop playing with her. I hope to save her from death. I have a good chance but I cant get my hopes up because if she doesnt pass a test then she will be euthanized.
Sunday I did a 40 mile ride with Dave and I had a bit more life at the end, in fact I had enough to hammer  for a few miles. I am sore today but it is the good kind.
Hats off to Hincapie in yesterdays pre-classic. 190 kilometers in icy, windy and overcast conditions, 190 starters and 35 finishers.

The teapot Friday, Feb 25 2005

This is the teapot animation I did last month. It is a test using TP2 with multi plane texturing and a true fragmentation. It is just a test and I added the music so that cleaner would allow me to convert it. Here it is teapot .

Modeling mouse. Friday, Feb 25 2005

I sold my first 3d model ever this month on TS. I didnt think that one would ever sell. I havent actually created a model in a while. It is fun to do and I dont want to forget how to use those tools. I need to get on it. I have this fancy new 3D mouse and I have not really used it much outside of progaming everything I wanted on it. It is really comfortable to use and gives this correct feeling of modeling. If you pull the up the model moves up and if you spin the ball then the model spins. It creates this 3d feel while looking at a 2d image.

artlicle from sciam.com Wednesday, Feb 23 2005

Robot2This is an interesting article from sciam.com about robots that are designed to walk like humans. Although the research is being used for prosthetic limbs I couldnt help but think about humanoid type robots such as Asimo . It is an interesting trend in robots to have human characteristics. C3PO and most other blockbuster robots have been humanoids (except R2 of course).  It does not seem like a superior functionality to design a robot to be human-like.

what happened to the love song Tuesday, Feb 22 2005

Gaye_1As I surround myself with the Classic Soul Ballads I cant help but ask myself  "where has the love song gone?". Is romance hiding somewhere or is it not allowed in public? Barry White teaches me that "It’s Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next to Me" and Luther Ingram told me that "if  loving you is  wrong than I dont want to be right". Was it just the time? I mean I know that r&b of today exist but it does not have the power or the sincerity of the past. Could it be that we are tainted by the times and we will never get that back?

Spring fever. Tuesday, Feb 22 2005

I have it bad. I am looking out of my office window and I can only think of going outside. I want to go for a ride and work in a garden. I dont want to be in my office.

Once ok. Twice pretty lucky. Ah but three times. Monday, Feb 21 2005

Fishpic_1I have had some good fishing days in the past but I have never had the fish-mojo I am rollin with right now. Me and my fishin/ridin buddy Dave have brought home a full stringer of fish the last three times out. We hit the Sac-o-lait  big time. I will be eating fish for months.
There is nothing better than frying crappie that are so fresh there nerves are still twitching when you batter em.
I rode 40 hilly miles yesterday solo. The wind was against me and I concentrated real hard on not blowing up. I calculated myself with perfection. As soon as I was pulling into Daves driveway I could pedal no more. One more mile and I would have not made it.

Thinking about time and nature today. Friday, Feb 18 2005

I want to observe and rekindle my love for geometry and math within a natural environment. I am imagining the work of Andy Goldsworthy and his use of time within nature and its relevance to the lifespan of a piece of art. How long should a piece of work last? He used video and photography to increase the life of his work that focused on the mortality of art in nature. When do you let a piece work die or be destroyed? I have a place with old zip discs and hard drives with my past written on them. I do not open them or view them as it does not have any place in what I am doing now. I don’t think that I could publicly show a piece I did a year ago because I am not in that place in time.

Fish Tacos and Pedro Almodovar Thursday, Feb 17 2005

Pedro Almodovar’s Bad Education is incredible and I put it up there with All About my Mother. It is not for the homophobic or anyone who thinks that Catholicism is flawless. It is a wonderful film. Oh Yeah fish tacos from Mucho Gusto yummm. A definate great addition to the lacking spanish cuisine of New Orleans.
