While in Homochitto I was visited by a lost hunting dog. I was completely alone except this beagle I will call OK. Her brands were DK but I could not help thinking about the Dead Kennedys sooooo her name became OK. She was a great visitor. I fed her pats of butter and stinky cheese. I had no radio, no alcohol and no ciggys. It was me, my bike and my Chromonica. The weather was perfect. I slept for hours outside of the tent and never got bit an insect. I saw the stars without the pollutents of NOLA lights. I am always amazed by the vast number of stars no matter how old I get or how many times I have seen them. I would wake up, eat and then ride the trail. If I craved a ciggy I would just go and ride the trail. The lung busting climbs of
clear springs will remind you why smoking is bad. I had lots of time to think and I needed it. When everything is quiet I realize how much chaos I face each day.

Somewhere in the city a party is brewing and its going to be crazy. So early this year and its going to be cold I know it. Thinking of a warm costume.

The new team looks amazing. The addition of Paolo Savoldelli is a smart move. I am excited to see if Lance is going to race Le Tour or Giro D’Italia. I hope the Giro, that would be the most exciting. I am also predicting a major return from Super Mario (Ha. I love that site) as he is training to smear some Petachi ass all over the pavement. Tyler Hamilton will be cleared of doping at the Olympics and Vuelta. Boonen or Basso will win Le Tour if Lance doesn’t race it. George Hincapie is going to win Paris Roubaiux . Heras will again win the Vuelta.

Is the desktop dead? The computer is morphing so rapidly that I can not invision next step. I am guessing that projected video and a projected keyboard to be the next step. No need for a bulky laptop anymore either. The way it was and the way it will be. What to buy or whats a fad? I am excited to see all of thes
e new goodies poppin up. I cant wait for something with a little more biotechnology hit the home computer world. Something that is both growing and computing and an upgrade requires an amino-steriod cocktail.

I have metal on my mind. Rotating power chords, thumping drums and heavy bass lines are filling my office. I am looking at some Big Daddy Roth and Robert Williams wondering how I can make my bicycle faster or trick it out hotrod style.

Hollywood Babylon coming from my office and I know that my boss can hear it. I am pretty sure he likes the misfits though. I watched an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force where Christmas past brings Carl bad news and his swimming pool and yard emit blood. Carl sells his house to Glenn Danzig who puts blood sprinklers in his yard.
Carl: Now just hang on a sec, okay.
Cybernetic Ghost: Sure
Carl: You’re the ghost of Christmas Past, right
Cybernetic Ghost: That is CORRECT.
Carl: Okay well… I mean you know that it’s February… right?
Cybernetic Ghost: (Pause) I am a robot.

The wild pig rests in my legs waiting for the
challenge. With the pigs power channeling through my legs and into the pedals I am
able to achieve great cycling obstacles. A loud growling squeal can be heard
for miles. I have not had the opportunity to utilize the wild pig for some time
now. I can feel him getting restless. It is time. This is something I need to do alone. The bike, the pig and me have a date.
These are extreme conditions that are going to require extreme measures. I am balancing at a pivotal point. I need to make it over the edge.

Half human and half animal, a transformation from the modern lifestyle to the spirit world and access to your spirit animal. Rick Bartow explores these transformations.
A red-tail hawk has followed me thoughout my life. Appearing when I am under trying conditions or need a little extra push. I have seen him when on long rides. He has appeared when my heart is sunken to tell me to keep fighting.

On Sunday we went to the Fair Grounds to catch a couple of races. The atmosphere brought back memories of my childhood. The noises, the smell of cheap cologne and hay. It felt wonderful and sort of uncomfortable at the same time. "the horses have reached the starting gate…………………their all in…………………..AND THEIR OFF!!!" I forget about all of the hidden little jewels of this city like the sculpture garden in City Park or the Wax Museum on Conti. Thats just what is permanent. That doesnt count the foggy night bike ride down Dauphine or the sun rise on the river in May. Sometimes I feel like this is the most familiar place in the world. The effects on OlFactory Hue when a mid day spring rain emits a vapor of Azalia. This place is a constant adventure.
