Yesterday afternoon was surreal. I went to my friend Dancers house to get these bananas that his landlord has been raving about. They grow in her yard and wild and tasty. I got a phone call from Lara and she was really upset. Amby
had collapsed while on a walk. She would not respond and her breath was
shallow and rapid. Dancer, Jen and I rushed to where they were and
called Dr. Mike Animal Hospital
they were about to close but said they would wait till we picked her up
and brought her in. When we located Lara and Amber there were several
people surrounding them. I thought she was dead the way that everybody
was around her. As soon as I walked up Amber had just became coherent,
I called her name and she got up. I walked her to the car and put her
in. Lara was really upset and confused because Amby was not responding
until seconds before I got there. We all went to vets office in a
compact car. Amber got out of the car like nothing had happened. After
a few test, the vet informed us that Amby had a heart fibrillation.
When that happened she lost blood supply to her brain and went out.
Good news is that it may never happen again. Bad news is that it could
happen often and end up stopping her heart. She is 13 years old and I
know she will not live forever but it is very scary when something like
this happens. She is fine this morning, she is eating and drinking
water.
Lara was a bit stresses from the whole ordeal and then had to
study for an exam this morning. She took a nap once I got home. While
she was sleeping I cooked some mean miso
soup and made a salad. I knew she would be up all night, so I tried to
make some good brain food. This is her last exam and she has a critique
tomorrow and that is it. I cant wait to have my girlfriend back.
I
am trying to go through all of these ideas I have in my head and choose
which ones are worth the pursuit and which ones I need to just let go.
I am meeting with Jonah  tomorrow night to discuss our project. That should clear up my ideas on this project.
